The technical answers buyers and sourcing teams ask us most often.
Circular knitting produces tubular fabric on a rotating cylinder of needles — used for T-shirts, polos, co-ords and loungewear. Warp knitting loops yarn vertically along the fabric length, giving run-resistant, dimensionally stable fabric used for curtains, mesh, sportswear and upholstery. Flat knitting works on a flat needle bed and produces shaped panels such as collars, cuffs and neck tapes. DG Knitting runs all three technologies in-house.
Fake cotton is a polyester-based circular knit engineered to look and feel like cotton. It is brushed or peach-finished for a matte surface and soft, cotton-like handfeel while keeping polyester's colour retention, dimensional stability, low shrinkage and lower landed cost. Our DG COT series covers this construction from 140 to 300 GSM.
Full dull yarn carries a high concentration of titanium dioxide, which removes filament shine. The knitted result is a deep matte surface with improved opacity and a premium non-shiny appearance — commonly specified for activewear, leggings and premium T-shirts.
As a working rule: 140–180 GSM for summer T-shirts, inner layers and kidswear; 180–240 GSM for everyday T-shirts, polos, co-ords and casual tops; 240 GSM and above for sweatshirts, joggers, winter co-ords and thermal styles. Use the weight filter above to shortlist instantly.
